Administrative Professional Certificate Program

Program Description

For those working in the field of administrative support, the Administrative Professional Certificate Program offers skills and knowledge in a variety of content areas vital to the success of your work.The program focuses on skills for both entry-level, as well as new ideas for the more experienced employee. Successful completion of the program will earn you three (3) CEU’s (continuing education units).

The Program consists of the following five sessions:
Sessions run from 9 AM - 3 PM
Earn 0.6 CEU's per session X 5 sessions = 3.0 CEU's

  1. November 29, 2006 - EAPC 101, CRN 45071: Delivering Great Customer Service
  2. February 13, 2007 - EAPC 106, CRN 25083: Effective Business Communication
  3. March 23, 2007 - EAPC 103, CRN 25084: Project Management Basics
  4. April 19, 2007 - EAPC 107, CRN 25085: Working Effectively Across Generations
  5. May 23, 2007 - EAPC 105, CRN 25086: Succeeding in Times of Change and Transition

To earn the Administrative Professional Certificate

  • You must enroll in and complete the series of five workshops listed above*

  • You will be expected to document a successful application of one or more of the learned skills at your workplace

*For those interested in enhancing their skills without completing the entire program, you may enroll in only the session(s) that you need.

Program Outcomes

Here are tools and techniques you will take with you at the end of the series:

  • An understanding of why change is difficult

  • 5 techniques for managing change effectively

  • A process for resolving difficult conversations – yours and others’

  • A framework for managing projects and multiple priorities

  • Tips and techniques for spotting and correcting grammar and proofreading errors

  • Effective strategies for supporting and communicating with your boss

  • Enrollment is limited to 25 per session – assures participation and skill practice

  • Case-study/action learning approach – assures relevance and a chance to get your hands on the material

  • Local facilitator – familiar with the business and service issues in our area

  • Upon completion of the program, you will be honored in a special ceremony
