How to Read the Online Course Schedule

Here is a listing of the codes used on the course schedules page in order from left to right as they appear on the screen:

  1. Code Status: Indicates the status of the course. A course may be:
    1. Changed
    2. Cancelled
    3. New
    4. Special Term (See date columns on the right side of the table)
    5. Special Fees - lab fee or additional material fee or unique course fee
      (see fee columns on right side of the table)

  2. Enr Lim: The maximum number of students this course can accept.

  3. Enr Act: The number of students currently enrolled.

  4. Seats Avail: The number of seats still available

  5. Foot-notes: Link to special notes about the course

  6. Course: The beginning letters indicate the academeic program (e.g., HCOM) and the following numbers indicate the course number (e.g., 225 for the course HCOM225)

  7. Sec: Section Number

  8. CRN: Course Reference Number . This is a unique identifier for the class. You will need this to register.

  9. Appr*: Approval requirement for the course. If "N" is in this column, registration will not be processed until the instructor gives consent. Contact the instructor for consent.

  10. Title: Descriptive title of the course. If the abbreviation OL is included after a slash at the end of the title, it indicates the course is online. Clicking on the title will link you to a description of the course.

  11. CR: The units of credit assigned to this course.

  12. Day: The days of the week the class meets.
    1. U means Sunday
    2. M means Monday
    3. T means Tuesday
    4. W means Wednesday
    5. R means Thursday
    6. F means Friday
    7. S means Saturday

  13. Time: The time of day the class meets.

  14. Bldg/Rm: The building number and the room number. If the class is listed as Off-Campus contact the class instructor , the academic institute or program offering the course, or Extended Ed for date/time/location information.

  15. Instructor: The instructor for the class. Clicking on the name will take you to the instructor's contact information.

  16. Start Date: The first date the class meets.

  17. End Date: The last date the class meets.

  18. Fee Type: If the course has a non-standard fee associated with it, this column will either have the value Plus to indicate the amount in the following column is required in addition to the standard fees, or the value Only if the amount in the following column is the entire fee requirement.

  19. Fee Amount: The non-standard fee amount associated with this course. See the fee type in the previous column for more information.
